Let me start by saying that team building is a serious subject because good teamwork gives you synergy which results in a competitive advantage. However, learning to improve teamwork does not have to be serious, it can be fun.
I believe that a team-building session needs to combine mind work i.e. in the classroom to identify what the team’s intent or goal is and then some practical teamwork on how to achieve it.
- Vision, common purpose and creation of synergy
- Roles and responsibilities
- Communication
- Motivation and enthusiasm
- Innovation
- Trust, no cheating (integrity)
- Sacrifice
- No entitlement
- Respect including for diversity
- Compliance
- Most of all fun!
