Hoping well . A sincere thanks and appreciation from N2P and all Hog Day Conference 2025 delegates .

We thank you for taking time off your busy schedule ,to address this audience .

DR Steve Harris was the guest speaker at our annual Hog Day Conference held in the Western Cape on 31st October ,2025.

We were 80 pig producers and 80 sponsors present . Because our industry had been through a few difficult and challenging years ,and because we felt we needed to close the three-day conference with a speaker who would inspire and motivate the delegates – we chose Dr Steve Harris .

Prior to the event we mandated Steve to motivate the delegates “ to perform at their peak , to Raise The Bar – Not only to Survive ,But ,To Thrive “.

I am extremely satisfied with our choice . Steve used his academic learnings in combination with his lifetime experiences to present an insightful , thought provoking , motivational presentation . His knowledge on gaining “ mental toughness” was shared in an understandable ,humorous and professional manner . His interaction with the audience was free flowing .

Thanks for joining us last week. It was great to meet you and share something of your story.
Feedback: your approach to mental toughness, sparked interesting conversations among teammates that I think will morph and be refined over time to suit our situation. Participants felt challenged to assess their habits and behaviours to improve their health, business strategy, perceptions, etc. We’ll be returning, again and again, to the concepts that you outlined to stay focused on the activities that matter while trying to shed those that bring little value to our business. The idea of “inches” was well received, and I’ve overheard several conversations in which “Blue Oceans” or “Red Oceans” strategies have been mentioned.
